In addition to our regular online courses, self-paced courses, and correspodence courses, we offer additional courses to enrich a students experience at our school. Advanced Placement

  • Receive credit for a 1st-year university course before you finish high school and earn three extra credits toward your High School Diploma at the same time!

What is the Registered Apprenticeship Program?


"The Trades offer good training, lots of opportunities and job security. The RAP program is a good way for high school students to see what's out there and get some work experience in a trade of their choice.
If you would like to start work at a real job earning real money, the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is a great first step toward a career. While going to high school, a RAP student earns hours of on-the-job training as credit toward both an apprenticeship program and a high school diploma/credential."

Are you interested in RAP? The Centre for Learning@HOME can assist you.

First Step: Stay in School. Our high school counselor will assist you in devising your high school program to ensure you meet the requirements of achieving your apprenticeship and acquire a high school diploma.

Second Step: Decide which trade matches your interests and skills. Before making commitment to a specific trade, it is important to discover if it is right for you. We suggest doing some work experience to get exposure to a variety of trades. Students can earn up to 15 credits toward their high school diploma. We suggest students start this in grade 10.

Third Step: You need to find an employer who will take you on as an apprentice. It is the student's responsibility to make these arrangements. If you are interested in working in a specific trade and have an employer in mind, it is advisable to meet with the owner of the company and explain your goals and seek their support

Fourth Step: After you acquire a placement, work with your school to apply to the Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office nearest you.

Fifth Step: By signing the apprenticeship application/contract you and your employer make an agreement. You agree to finish your classroom and on-the-job training. Your employer agrees to pay you a certain percentage of the journeyman wage rate, train you on the job and allow you to attend classroom training.
